Fruit Pastilles is one of a series of geometric explorations playing with the magic of overprinted colours that followed on from my These Four Walls series.
It’s the result of three randomised compositions of modular metal ornaments of various geometric designs (dots, lines and squares) printed on top of each other. Each composition was hand inked and letterpress printed in fluorescent orange, lime green and hand-mixed purple inks onto a smooth greenish-grey card that really makes the colours pop. The orange is especially bright in daylight, and is really hard to photograph!
Working with these ornaments is a lot of fun. Imagine playing Tetris with tiny metal blocks, and you’ll get the idea. See my journal to read about the making of this series of prints and watch a video of work in progress.
The edition is limited to just 22 prints, of which 20 are available for sale.
Supplied in a board-backed cello sleeve.
