Open Studio
Sunday 7th December 2025
10am – 3pm
Come along for a mooch around the studio, learn a bit about the process of letterpress printing and see my work. There'll be letterpress prints, cards, coasters, notecards, gift tags and bookmarks for sale. Pick up a few Christmas presents for your favourite typeface fanciers and stationery addicts! If you've been thinking of booking a letterpress workshop, it's an excellent opportunity to come along to see the studio, type and presses and to chat about what you might like to print.
Other artist studios will also be open in Brampton Bryan and at Lower Buckton Barns; jewellery, pottery, weaving, prints, paintings, illustration, lettering and glass art. See the Brampton Bryan Collective page on the village website to see who is open, and to download a map to find us all.
Aardvark Books are also having their Christmas Fair just a short walk down the lane. There will be lots of stalls featuring vintage, crafts and decorative items, with live music, delicious mince pies, complimentary mulled wine and festive treats in the café. Free parking.
Find my studio at:
Oxford Yard,
Brampton Bryan,
Bucknell,
SY7 0DH
Brampton Bryan is in Herefordshire, near to the Shropshire and Powys borders. From the crossroads in Brampton Bryan, take the lane towards Aardvark Books. Oxford Yard is the first left, next to the house on the corner. My studio is at the far end of the barn on your right.
Mr Flat and I are still shielding (he's immunocompromised) so I'll be in a mask and the studio will be well ventilated. I hope you can make it, and I look forward to seeing you!
Weather update, Sat 6th December 8pm: the weather is not being kind to us this weekend, and the road from Leintwardine towards Walford is currently flooded and has been closed. However, all is not lost! If you're coming from Ludlow-way, there's a little detour you can take. Just before Leintwardine there’s a right turn onto the B4385. At the T junction (which will have a big puddle), turn left staying on B4385. At the next T junction turn left onto B4367 and go through Bedstone. Keep going through Bucknell. Follow the road round over the railway track. At the next T junction turn left onto A4113 which takes you into Brampton Bryan, then at the crossroads it’s right then left into my yard. It’s basically a loop that avoids the worst of the flood plain.
For updates on flooding, the Walford Flood Action Group on Facebook is well worth keeping an eye on.
