Process over perfection letterpress print
A very bright pop of colour for your wall or shelf! This was a fun piece made using geometric laser-cut wood printing blocks, re-arranged and overprinted in 3 colours onto vintage fluorescent pink card.
The alignment isn’t perfect, and that gives each print an energy and freshness of its own. As a recovering perfectionist I was struggling with that, so Mr Flat (who is very wise) sat down and wrote the words for the back. I fiddled with them a bit, but they’re mainly from him:
“Process over perfection. This is a small reminder to explore, to play and try things out, to react to what you’ve done and learn from it. To discover new things by opening yourself up to accident. What do you like? What do you not like? Respond to it, move forwards. Have fun. Enjoy yourself.”
Wise words indeed. I do my best to live by them. Do you know someone who might appreciate them too?
There’s no right way up, so display it landscape or portrait as you like.
